I am a Book Lover. So much so that I have taken to collecting books. I'm all about Hardback books. I know, most people love paperbacks but not me. One of my favorite things to do is curl up on the couch and lose myself in a good novel.
However, my girls dont agree with me. In fact, I haven't even been able to finish one book my entire pregnancy. It's sad really, I've sortof let my brain go to mush. I honestly can't sit still and concentrate for a long enough period of time to absorb anything I'm reading. I find myself reading the same sentence over and over wondering to myself when in the world I got so stupid. It's taking it's tole.
So now that I am just about finished with this pregnancy I am longing for a good book to read; but here's my problem - What book? I need suggestions.

I have heard that Jane Erye is really good. I have been into books that involve history. I don't have any one that I can think of. I also like the Children of the Promise series.
I heard the Gerald Lund's new book is excellent. Good Luck on reading. I can't remember the last time I read a whole entire book. For myself that is. I read books with Karlee and Kaitlyn and I read easy books to Kortney but that is about the extent of my reading. However it is good reading!
I like Juvi-Fiction-Fantasy stuff right now like Fablehaven, The Worlds of Crestomanci, Harry Potter, the Percy Jackson series, etc.
We have all of these if you want to borrow any of them. I too love a good book! My advice is get your library card out and go that way- then if you like a book enough then you can go buy it. :)
The Luxe series by Anna Godbersen (the first one is called The Luxe - imagine that!)
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. This is a YA novel - very popular right now (the sequesl is called Catching Fire)
Still Alice by Lisa Genova (about Alzheimers, very good. Makes you think).
The Redemption Series by Karen Kingsbury and Gary Smalley The first one is called Redemption. Where do they come up with this stuff? They're Christian books. Kind of 7th Heaven-ish.
My Name is Asher Lev by Chaim Potok (about a Jewish kid that paints - maybe you'll hate it, I dunno).
The Wednesday Wars by Gary Schmidt (a heart-warming, humorous childrens novel)
The Lost Art of Keeping Secrets by Eva Rice (I don't remember anything about it, but I think I liked it)
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak (my favorite book)
The Birth House by Ami McKay (PG-13 with a few R moments (but not super R, just kind of R))
A Certain Slant of Light by Laura Whitcomb. It's about ghosts in love. Sounds weird, eh? (one rated R moment)
Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen (has a few R rated parts, but I have a copy of this book, and I put scrapbook paper over the naughty parts. You can borrow it if you want).
The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls (this is a memoir with some rated R parts)
The Ladies Auxiliary by Tova Mirvis. It's about orthodox Jews. I think every LDS woman should read this book.

I am the same with books...LOVE EM but I am VERY particular about hardbacks. I HAVE to have them in hardback. I want to get Jordan all of the Fablehaven books for Christmas and I am having a hard time getting them all because if a book comes in both hardback and paperback then I will ONLY get it in hardback. I hate the feel of most paperback paper on my fingers...almost newspaper-ish. Now that Fablehaven is also in paperback I have only been able to find it in paperback. So far I only have the last 2 in the series.
Anyways, There are some books that I have read by Annette Lyon the second book is a continued part of the first book but the 3rd and 4th books are their own separate stories even though they look like they would go along with the first 2. The 1st one is called "House On The Hill" and the 2nd is "At the Journey's End"
3rd one is " Spires of Stone" and the last one is "Tower of Strength". All the stories have some true history to them so I guess they can be called historical fiction to a point. Each story is centered around one of the temples in Utah. Logan, St. George, Salt Lake and Manti. I really enjoyed them. BUT they only come in paperback, however, it is the nicer paperback paper :) They are all right around the 300 page mark so I have no doubt that you can finish one or two before the babies get here. I have all 4 of them and you are more than welcome to borrow them if you would like. Even if you wanted to borrow the first one to see how you like it and then you can decide if you want to buy them all. Just let me know.
OH OH OH I forgot about another REALLY good one. I saw it as I was putting the other 4 books back on the shelf and decided to comment again cause this one is around 200 pages so you can be done really fast! I think JaNise and I may have told you about it so sorry if this is a repeat. It's by Shannon Hale and it's called "Austenland". Cute, funny and it makes you smile at the end. I also have it if you wanted to borrow it.
