The Polar Express

Our Friend's, The Christenson's, have a cousin who runs a free (donation requested) train ride called the Polar Express. It's so fun, everyone get a seat on this little train and you go around the North Pole where they have little elves greeting you.

Then you make a stop at Santa's Workshop where you get to sit on his lap and he gives you a candy cane and a bell to wear around your neck. 

We were all in a big group and were able to fit on one train (not so sure about next year :)

Christmas Dance Concert

Maddie & Kate are still dancing at Shellie's School of Dance. They have the most amazing teacher in the world and we absolutely LOVE her. I'm not sure anyone else can ever be their teacher. They would go live with Miss Sara if she asked them.  

This year for their Christmas Concert they dance to "We Need a Little Christmas". 

The dance is darling and they have many of the same girls in their class that they had last year. 

 Their BFF Maisie is in both their Dance Class and their preschool class. They love her and she is darling. They wont go to school together next year since Maisie will go to the same charter school as her brother does and they aren't accepting new students next year. (I'm seriously considering becoming a lunch lady to get them in though :)

They had a Dance Concert on December 11 & 12 at Hunter High. They did a great job and loved dancing on "The BIG STAGE". 

Zoo Lights

We went to Zoo Lights this year with our friend's The Millers. We love their family and have every intention of marrying at least one of our girls to one of their boys. :)

We saw Santa and Mrs. Clause. Kate asked for an Elsa and Anna Mirror (vanity), Jaycie asked for Doc McStuffins, and Maddie wants Walki-Talki's. 

We had a really fun time and are excited to make this a yearly tradition. 

Cousins

Cub Scouts

In my ward I have two callings... One I love (Girl's Camp Director) the other I tolerate. I don't know why they called me to Cub Scouts. News Flash... I have no boys. 

I do this calling with my friend, Michelle, and we do an alright job. For the first year we had one kid that would come and it was awkward... at best. This year I took a Saturday and planned out our whole year (in 8 hours...bleh...) and now we have about 6-10 boys that come regularly. My girls are really loving it and it's making me like it a lot more. 

We went on a Cub Scout Day Camp this year. It was a superhero training camp. We actually had fun but I just couldn't get behind the corney-ness (not a word)! There's a certain type of special needed to run these things and unfortunately (fortunately :) I do not possess it. Whew...

Besides holding a weekly Den Meeting in which we do cool things like Retire Flags in my back yard, visit the fire station, and learn about "How to be a good Cub Scout" we have a monthly Pack Meeting for awards and larger group activities. 

Now that I'm done HATING the calling I'm sure it's about time to be moved to something different; however, I did tell the bishop that I would do Cub Scouts as long as he would release me from Girls Camp. :)

We had family pictures taken this year by my cute friend Holly! She did such a fabulous job. I really thought we'd missed the best of the fall colors but it turned out to be perfect. The leaves were still bright and they were still falling but there was enough on the ground to blanket the weeds. It was awesome. 

 The only problem we had was THE DEER!! They were everywhere. My girls we constantly looking for them instead. We saw tons of deer and many of them walked right in our pictures. 

In the end it was awesome, the pictures turned out beautiful, and now I'm good on photos for another 6 months. :)

Halloween

For Halloween this year the girls wanted to be Pirates. I couldn't find a different pirate costume for Jaycie that didn't involve more money than I was willing to spend on 5 costumes so she got to be Doc McStuffins (I got a great deal from Costco ;)

 We went over to Uncle Ron's Horse pasture and he let me each have a turn riding one of his mares. The girls thought it was the greatest thing EVER!!

My parents had their annual Halloween Party in which there was way to much food, and then candy, then donut eating, then more food. The kids had a blast though.
